Protein powders occupy the shelves of every health food store, including natural food stores, organic groceries and supplement stores. Surely this must mean something.
For one, it means the health conscious are interested in them. I think people interested in optimal health are generally interested in both optimal fitness and optimal nutrition. They realize that to work out hard, they have to eat especially well. Many of these same folks avoid eating a great deal of red meat, either legitimately or not.
