Real Ob/Gyn Episode 4: Moving Toward a New Normal

Hello everyone,

I recently finished my two week pandemic rotation in my local medical center. Our individual practices have basically been dismantled, and in place we have made two pandemic teams who go on two weeks then off two weeks, in order to have a team in reserve at all times. This way, we can quickly identify any providers who develop symptomsest and quarantine them if necessary.

We have all followed the medical developments more closely than ever, and our leadership is in touch with their components in public health more than ever. Everyone is reaching out to their colleagues all over the world to see how it has been for them. We are all trying to share information to move us forward.

In some areas of the United States, we believe we are past the peak, but it is impossible to know for sure. In that light, balancing pandemic with economic concerns has proven difficult. To move forward, we will go in phases, and it will be a huge experiment.

My post this week deals with some thought about the near future.
