Welcome to my Shopping Page !

I often find myself suggesting items or products to patients. I have collected my favorites here for your convenience. Many of these links send you to products I have chosen for my Amazon Associates account, and I make a commission on them. Your price doesn't not change. In fact, you can save even more money compared to bricks and mortar retail by ordering your favorites through Amazon Subscribe and Save, as I do. You’ll spend less time shopping too, and will be less tempted to buy extraneous things.

There are many other good products out on the market, but these are all ones I personally use. When shopping for other products, you must be careful to read labels, just like with food. Anything really cheap or really expensive should have a red flag not to buy. Anything “ Made in Korea” is a green flag to purchase, since their cosmetic manufacturing standards are much higher than other countries, including ours.

Supplements:

Vitafusion Prenatal Gummies For everyone, not just pregnant women! NOBODY gets nauseous on these!

Nature’s Bounty Vitamin D3 5000IU

Nature’s Bounty Vitamin D3 2000IU

Which dose of vitamin D do you need? Ask your provider to check your levels.

Country Life Acerola Vitamin C 500 mg

Citracal Maximum Plus

Ask your provider about these and other supplements.

Skin Care:

For the “Double Cleanse” first do the oil cleanse. ( I do this before I get in the shower, and tissue off any makeup.)

Burt’s Bees Nourishing Cleansing Oil with Coconut and Argon Oil

Then a water based cleanser:

Good Molecules Hydrating Facial Cleansing Gel - Face Wash with Rosewater and Pineapple

Then, about three times per week, I exfoliate. Here is my all time favorite:

St. Ives Radiant Skin Face Scrub For Dull Skin Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange Dermatologist-Tested Face Wash Scrub

Use it gently but rapidly. You will get a feel for what your skin “likes”. Getting the dead skin cells off will really help products to absorb.

After you have rinsed, pat dry. Then, without, delay, apply serums and essences. These are essentially nutrients. There are only a few which are evidence based, so I will feature those here. There are many good ones on the market, and they can be used in combination.

Cos De Baha Niacinamide 20% + Zinc PCA 4%

GOODAL Green Tangerine Vitamin C Serum

I alternate these since the Vitamin C serum is strong.

Facial oil- on those days where you just need more oil.

Burt's Bees Facial Oil With Rosehip Seed Extract

For the body:

Cetaphil Body Moisturizer, Hydrating Moisturizing Cream for Dry to Very Dry, Sensitive Skin

Since I shower twice a day, once in the morning to get the joints and the brain going, and again in the evening after workout, I need full body moisturizer. Mind you, I use only water to wash the body, never any soap or body wash. So I go through a lot of cheap, plain cetaphil cream.

Sunscreen- Indispensable, all year round.

I have chosen a combination product, since I have streamlined my morning routine. It combines moisturizer, nutrient, and sunscreen and also serves as primer should I chose to wear CC Cream or makeup. It goes on every single morning, rain or shine.

Naturium Dew-Glow Moisturizer SPF 50 PA++++, Daily Moisturizing Sunscreen & Face Primer, Skin Protector with Dewy Finish

You will need something waterproof for water and snow sports. Don’t forget to apply in advance and to reapply as directed!

Fitness :

Beachbody

Those of you who know me know I have been doing Beachbody since 2010. At first I used their DVDs but ultimately subscribed to their streaming service Beachbodyondemand.com, now called BODi, since it is the best and most comprehensive deal. It has content for every level and for every type of workout. I can recommend it because the workouts adhere to evidence based sports medicine principles.

Food Preparation:

Instant Pot Duo Crisp 11-in-1 Air Fryer and Electric Pressure Cooker Combo with Multicooker Lids that Fries, Steams, Slow Cooks, Dehydrates

These are great for working families. They are easily compatible with an infinity of healthy dishes.

Vitamix 5200 Blender, Professional-Grade, Container, Self-Cleaning 64 oz

If you like smoothies, soups or sauces, you’ll find a way to get one of these blenders. (Hint: Mom and Dad can each buy half of one for the other.)

KitchenAid® 7 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer

Worth saving for!!! We don’t bake as much as we used to, but we have found our mixer useful for many other things, such as mixing seasoned meats for meatloaf, meatballs, and sausage. It can also run attachments for spiralizing vegetables or grinding meat. Still when holidays and birthdays come around, ours is still working non-stop.

Lavatools PX1D Javelin PRO Duo Ultra Fast Professional Digital Instant Read Meat Thermometer for Grill and Cooking

Never argue about whether “it’s done” again. Check your dish against safe temperatures from the CDC. Link HERE for more info.

Health Tracking

Apple Watch

There are other fitness trackers out there, but I have used this one ever since they came out. It tracks many metrics and links to your Health app on the iPhone. I have bought into the Apple ecosystem because I view it as people and health centric, and because all the components work together seamlessly. Apple also uses it watches to offer people participation in research studies through institutions like Stanford University, and I like to participate like those.

Oura Ring

Uncharacteristically, Oura ring, not an Apple product, works seamlessly into the Apple universe and the iPhone Health app. It is also available for Android. It is a physiology tracker. It is excellent to track and modify sleep habits. It concurrently tracks pulse, temp, oxygen saturation, respirations and movement. It has grown largely out of research coming out of UCSF - University of California San Francisco. I recommend one for anyone who does not have ideal sleep.
